Crazy, crazy doll people...

Just got through reading how this one chick FAKED HER OWN DEATH, sent the certificate to SOOM and everything, just to get out of a couple of preorders, once everyone caught on to her and tried to get their money back. Holy crap, that's just nutters to the extreme.

Though the fake death thing happens on pages 4/5. I love reading through the problem transactions for exactly this reason.
So far as I understand it, yup. Pretty much a doll meet on a cruise ship. I forget exactly what happened, but DoA disallowed her from publicizing on the forums anymore and she had made some fake corporation for it and then it came out that nothing was really planned...I'm not sure. You can probably search "doll cruise" on there to dig it up. Why you would want to spend that kind of money to travel that far to be trapped on a boat with doll crazies in the first place, I have no idea.

Date: 2010-07-07 02:21 am (UTC)In a train wreck, thank God it wasn't me sort of way. I have to admit that one of the things I miss most about the land o' Pullip-crack was when someone would go nuclear, lose their mind, and rip a bunch of people off. The ensuing drama was nothing short of amazing. (Not that I didn't/don't feel bad for the people getting screwed, but as a bystander, it was entertaining as hell.)
Second only to catfights. Ah, memories.
I'm thinking the only reason you'd want to be trapped on a boat with crazy doll people is because you were planning on stealing the dolls and killing people. One too many mystery novels set at sea.

Date: 2010-07-07 02:32 am (UTC)I can see going to meet-ups where you can get away if the people are awkward weirdos, but omg, maybe it's just my SAD, I would not want to be trapped for a week with that potential.
I think I left the pullip forums too soon for any good stuff. I do dislike the people for scamming, but sometimes I'm just like "Why did you keep giving them second chances in the first place and not filing claims?? Geez!"

Date: 2010-07-07 02:39 am (UTC)I only really remember one massive scam during the time I was into Pullips and that was the chick who got people to send her their Pullip heads so she'd do faceups and then... kept them. And the one time I got burned, it was just for like, seven bucks for a couple of shirts. So, so sad.
*cackles* I'm going to have that mental picture of the dinghy for quite awhile.
