30 Days of Sailor Moon-6

I will admit that I'm not much for the couplings in the things I follow. When I saw that one of these 30 day memes was for "shipping" I was like "I guess that's for sellers who really do a lot of mailing? Like which services they use and everything. Huh." >_> And Sailor Moon's especially weird on that, because unlike most other things out there, a lot of the female characters end up alone so far as we know. They have brief flirtations with relationships, but only a handful actually seem to have any kind of romance. Which unfortunately leads to weird ass pairings like Hotaru/Shingo(Usagi's little brother), Minako/Artemis(barf) and Mamoru/everybody.

I do admit to actually thinking about this quite a bit in the past. Rei has Yurichio, but that's never really gone into depth about, Ami's got brainy hamburger boy that we never see past the 2nd season, the other two flirtations at best. I'm guessing because they're meant to be with the generals, but since they're gone, they get no one new? Not sure.

I've tried watching the R season again and I really, really hate Mamoru in it, so I'm not sure I even want him involved in any pairing. I like Usagi and Seiya together, but she's destined to be with Mamoru, so I'm content to leave them as is. And Chibiusa makes out with a horse. Gross. So what did I decide?



Favourite Couple



Luna and Kakeru

I seem to be going with the sad choices a lot for this thing, but I guess they're the most emotionally effective. But who can't empathize with that story? Crushing on a guy, he sees you as a friend, you try *so* hard to be the one for him only to realize that he's in love with someone else the whole time. Even with Artemis at the end, she seems to just kind of accept that it's inevitable that she ends up with him as he's the only other talking cat. So Luna and Kakeru are the couple I support most in the series.

Hehe, I have to admit I was tempted to do Mamoru and that alien guy that was trying to get into his pants from the first movie. Or I guess I could have gone with the myriad of lez couples this show inspires.

Perhaps strangely, I've gotten into the concept of slash fiction. Not even really into "shipping", especially since so much of shipping tends to make a couple out of two people who clearly aren't meant for each other but the fans got a bug up their butt and decided that there was some sort of chemistry there.

But back to slash, it strikes me that Sailor Moon must be ripe with it. I mean, Harry Potter slash include things like Hagrid/Harry matchups and Drago/Ron...so somewhere there is like a twelve way story involving a bunch of sailor suits and a couple of cats.

Are you talking male or female slash or both? I've seen a number for Endymion and his generals getting it on. Rei/Minako/Usagi paired different ways are another favorite. There actually just aren't a whole lot of men in SM overall for there to be too many pairings. Oh, Darien and Andrew-the arcade guy I've seen a number of times. Michiru and Haruka like to diversify their interests as well, sometimes.

I don't really have an aversion to those kinds of things, either. Sometimes they're really interesting and done well so that they do make sense. I've read a few Naruto fanfics that really have me rooting for a Sakura/Itachi relationship because they're written so well. And actually, I could have gone for non-romantic couple as well, but even then I'm not sure who I would have chosen...

And I have always loved the dress and wished I could cosplay it but yellow & me would do horrible together.

Yeah, I think they're the only ones in the series that I would actively root for.
Aw, I'd love to see you do a Luna Cosplay! I can't pull off yellow either though. And I can't imagine that wig. Curly and odangos?? Yikes.

I'd probably have to do like I did the for Mai Lin. Buy a wig that looks right for the base and then buy matching hair extensions to make odangos out of & pin to the wig.

Or if I had money, just pay some of the people online who make anime character wigs professionally.

It's really the length of the hair that scares me most tho.
