Just got back from a fun trip to Socorro. I still have a paper to do, but that can wait, eh? George and I drove up late friday night and stayed with his friends Mike and Heidi. They were really nice and had a nice room for us to stay in and everything. Me and Heidi stayed up til 4:30 in the morning and George and Mike even longer. o_0 I got to see the hilarious dvd commentary for Showgirls though, so now I must own that VIP boxset. We watched a lot of other misc. dvds they had, some of which were pretty cool. Kwoon....not so much. Dr. Tran owns, though. Saturday me and George drove up to Albuquerque and did some serious power shopping. Our 12-hour tour included the Asian market where we got some cool Japanese candy and stuff and some cool dice from the RPG store next door. I got some that are just so freakin' tiny! And some other pretty chib ones, too. We did the usual rounds of the malls and Best Buy too, so I used up the giftcards Lee got for me and my mom and got 4 dvds, a game and a cd. Not too shabby. I got some cutie chib DBZ guys at Toys R' Us and also a Hello Kitty mini fridge. It's too cute! I got it for $30 instead of 50 too, since they left their sale sign up for 2 weeks after the fact. I don't think the guy wanted to argue either, since it was technically after their closing time. With construction and stuff, it ate up some time, but George and I can have our own fun, so even sitting in the car was full of hijinx. I need to go up again soon to get some Chinese clothes as well. This one shop had some really neat ones, even these little kids clothes. One was a little set of pink or purple Chinese shirt and pants with Hello Kitty on them! I got a Sake set there that I can use at the Culture Faire, but I'll have to go back for the clothes since the mall was closing. *^^ Ah, I got Sims Makin' Magic at Toys, too for only 10 bucks! Awesome, awesome, but I still need Superstar and free hard drive space before I can put it on. Oh we got Mario toys at Wendy's for lunch, too. I still need the shitty race car driver game though.
When we got back, we watched George's Invader Zim that he'd gotten(I love Gaz), but I was tired and went to bed around 1. Once again, they stayed up til 5 though. Crazy bastards. They had such cool comic book art around their house, too. And lots of neat dragons and swords and stuff. Then today, we all played a bunch of Gamecube games, including damnded frolf, and I got to meet Stephan. Another person I proved my existence to. We all went out for lunch/dinner and it was pretty good. He didn't stay for long though.
And now we're back and I'm not doing my paper, still. I hope I can go up for their festival thing, but there's going to be so much other stuff going on around that time. The Renaissance Faire, Culture Faire, Halloween, Potter's Guild, county fair, it'll be crazy. Plus the trip to Ohayo Con would only be a few months away. We're really going to try to get William there, but I think we have to give up on Todd. I invited Lee, though, so maybe he'll want to go with us, as well. Tatton talked about doing some kind of Naruto theme instead of CCS since a lot of the people we had planned for the characters are unsure or said they aren't going. I'm working on getting the Anime Club into my hands at ENMU-R though, so hopefully we can meet new people and plan a group trip and do a fundraiser to help with registration. Maybe new RPG people, too. We didn't get to do Star Wars last weekend, but hopefully sometime this week we can. Or maybe we can start the Naruto one soon, too. That'll be different, but surely lots of fun.
I guess that's it for now. Oh yeah, ya'll should be watching the Amazing Race, Apprentice and if you really want to be scared, Surreal Life.
Ja ne!

Date: 2004-09-13 03:01 pm (UTC)Glad you got the discount on the Mini Fridge, that's awesome.
So your taking over the club? That's cool, I know Todd said he was trying to find another advisor cuz he didn't think he could do it anymore. Aw.. your going to go make the club hellacool while I'm gone. *sniff*
Ah, so much stuff is going to be happening while I'm gone. It's not fair.
Sorry I'm so uncertain on ohayocon. I think I'll know for sure after my first month in Tempe. I'll know how much it takes to live there a month and how much I can save up. I did buy a wig for the Mai Ling costume... but if you guys want to switch to Naruto, I think I could use it for Haku. He's got long black hair right? I can't really think of any chicks with long black hair in the series that I would want to be and Hinata's hair is too short for me to pull off. I could do her cousin/brother whatever guy. lol I'd need to paint freaky veins beside my eyes and get totally white opaque contacts! oooo and then I'll stare at you all the time! ALL THE TIME! Mwhahahaha!
Oh... and I'm more then certain Todd is out. He's got too much stuff going on with his woman's health and watching the kids.

Date: 2004-09-13 09:21 pm (UTC)Who'd you get for an advisor?
About the harddrive thing... Todd did say he wanted to drop down to a member status in the club; maybe he'll still be able to pull his harddrive in there for the CD's.
As for my school.. I'm not sure it warrents the term spiffy, but I do hope your right that I can find stuff to do there... besides work. WHich is what I invision myself doing - work, school, apartment. Work, school, apartment, etc. I meant to ask if the school had any clubs when I visited but I went so braindead while talking to the admissions lady *sigh*. It'd be nice if I could find a group to roleplay with. I do miss it.
Now for the skit.. you know if you kept to CCS, I wouldn't need to practice for a skit. All Meilin needs to do is stand there and shout "I love you li!" "That was Li's Clow Card!" "Get off my man!" lmao, jk.
Nah I totally understand on the skit thing, you'd need all your actors there to practice. I'd still like to match the group costume theme if I could tho, ya know for picture taking purposes & what not.
it's me lee
