Phase 1 complete
Jan. 9th, 2009 10:21 amWell, I was called in for Jury Duty today, so I was all nervous the night before about that and stuff I need to do for work, but after reading there for an hour, the court got started and...no defendant. So bench warrant issued and ya'll are free to go! I can get used to that. ;) I'll have to call in tonight though and see what's on the docket (Look at me, all Phoenix Wright up in here!) for next week.
Gus and the DDE order came in yesterday! I was too tired and anxious to properly enjoy them though. And the DD order was missing the green eyes I ordered for my vampy girl. *sigh* They're real nice, but this is only the 2nd time I've ordered and the other one was kinda jacked up too. Plus I initially didn't even get an invoice, so I'm glad I asked for it, otherwise I probably wouldn't have noticed the eyes for awhile.
In good news though, I loooooove my new doll. Except now I want a Dodo too. There's one on the marketplace that I'm hoping gets marked down eventually. It's weird that DDE has them for $230 and the AS company site has them for $200. So even with overseas shipping and pp fees I'm not sure you're saving much at that point. If DDE had them for the $200, I might be tempted to get one right now. So maybe that's good then.
Anyways, I love that size, though clothing's going to be difficult. Despite all the YoSD love, I'm having trouble finding many clothes that size that aren't horribly overprice (though I guess that's true with most bjd clothes, it just seems crazier on the smaller, little kid clothes). Mintoncard has some shoes, but the dresses I like are out of stock. Of course. And I can't decide on wig either. I was set on the pink pigtails, but with the dolls pinky face, Robert said it would look so good. Kemper's actually got wigs that size as well, but they don't post pictures of all the colors, so I can't tell what their burghandy and auburn and such will actually look like and the unnatural colors are pretty bright and crazy.
The clothes he came with are little tractor pajamas and while cute, not real versatile. The fur wig is nice, so he'll get to stay a boy for the time being. He came with extra hands too, but I'm not sure how that switching out is going to work, so I'm afraid to mess with it at the moment. Hopefully I can get together with Mom soon and do a major restringing project on half the dolls. Adam(giant boy doll) is real screwbally, the pink niblet is horribly loose and the vampirekin is in a permenant broken neck position. Poor gimp dolls.
Yay, Mom actually wants to go see The Unborn. It looks creepy enough that even if it's bad it'll still be okay. OMG ya'll, I actually got through mid-year budget reviews too with no major scary! Yay sandwich!
