My name's Amanda and I have a problem...
Jan. 13th, 2009 08:58 amI think most of you know that I have a serious compulsion problem when it comes to "good deals". It seldom matters what it is, but if it's 75+% off, I'm compelled to buy it, no matter if I want it or need it.
So the night before last, I'm doing one of my hourly run-throughs of the DoA marketplace and see that someone has buy her puki, get her jaimedoll free(cause it had been modded). I had seen that ad before, but getting the jd free with some stroller thing, which eh. But now, it was $200 for both. No pics, though, so I emailed her and she said she'd get them tomorrow, so I figured they'd be gone by then. I got the pics last night though, and both dolls were in excellent condition. I can't even tell what's changed on the jaimedoll and I was expecting like a faceup with scars and the eyewells gouged out or something.
So, the Jaimedoll is about 220 new and the Puki would be 220 as well since she also had the sleeping faceplate. But BOTH for 200 flat. Unfortunately, the puki was like my least favorite one, though looking back, I could have turned her into my Princess Peach. So I start spazzing and call my mom who gets all pissed cause she was watching tv and I'm like "Tell me if I should buy these!!" looking for the ok-go! But she was like you probably shouldn't w/ her favorite "Only you know how much money you have" >_> So I waffled and decided to save for another Angell Studio doll instead. BUT, it horrified me that this good deal would go to someone unknown and luckily Miss![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
missmollymayhem was around, so I told her. I thought about seeing if she wanted to split, but that was too complicated, and luckily enough she was first to get to them! So yay, someone got to take advantage of that! I knew she was good for it, since she was the seller I got ChuChu Nezzbi from brand new for $60 off of retail. ;)
So, I get to be proud of myself right? Because where is this story leading?
Project House Purging
Unfortunately, I've been less than steller in the past about exercising this shopping habit of mine and as a result, my house is FULL of stuff. I have a 3 bedroom house and 2 rooms are pretty much just crammed full of boxes. Not to mention the crap piled up in every other room. But this weekend Mom came over and we actually managed to send a trunkload of stuff to the Goodwill and the purple room has clear floor. I really need to train myself to not buy things just cause they're cheap. A marble cotton ball holder...5 kites...4 shower curtains...4 packs of shower curtain rings...a ton of hello kitty bathroom accessories(and I can't get rid of HK ever, sorry)...weird hats and shawls...and copious amounts of shoes and clothes.
I'm hoping that once I clear out some spaces, I can begin going through the 10 million boxes and start selling off some of the anime and other toys I've accumulated through the ages.
