Well, I know I'm PMSing when I start tearing up while local newsman Tom Joles tells us how lucky we are to live in a country where we get the right to a trial and it's a priveledge that I was chosen to do so.
Of course, the solemness quickly turned to laughter when he had to go into the history of how we got a court system including HILARIOUS reenactments of people getting killed in lieu of trials including the guy getting his feet bound to a small rock and then "thrown" into the shallow end of the Rio Grande. It was so hard not to laugh in the middle of that courtroom. Good times, good times.
But it sounds like this isn't going to be the schedule nightmare I thought it was. Probably only called to 4-8 juries during the whole time and they only last a day. I just have to let them know when I'm not available and it seems like it'll be cool. Mom's talking about driving to Arizona in May so I wasn't sure how that would work out, if it doesn't fall through.
AND I got a kickass pink skull bandana at the staff meeting today, which went nicely with my pink penguin shirt. So I had to start representing for my new gang, The Piratical Penguins.
