The temperature's HALF of what it was yesterday and is now at 44 degrees and a freaking cold wind. It's nice that it feels like winter now, but is it too much to ask for a gradual decrease so's I could get acclimated?? I wore a t-shirt today for cripe's sake!
Okay, so this cashback thing kind of turned into a clusterfuck in a very short timespan, but long story short, I am getting my Kanoa! On a Soom body no less and for only $50 more than if I had cobbled him together myself. And he's coming with an outfit. Well the shirt's gay, but it will buy time until the Dollheart fukubags come in.
Long story? Okay, someone on DoA posted that if you sign up for Microsoft Live and use their search engine with "dollfie" you'll get this link to where you can get 30% back from a BuyItNow auction. Plus a 10% ebay coupon, but I never get those for some reason. Anyways, people were posting that they were buying like $700 dolls and get 200 back and it was actually working. But I was wary of course and so that night I just bought a $10 book Mom asked for and lo and behold, it actually said I was getting 3-something back. But since it was 5 dollar min it was pending until it got to be more I guess.
So I looked for pukis, no deal, no souldoll aku(bling-eyed cat) up there either, but when I search for Kanoa(the SD boy doll I've been wanting) there was one. BIN $500. 30% would make him 350 which is what I was planning to spend by trying to get the head for 150 shipped(which was from a girl from the UK which I wasn't even sure would work) and a janky cheap body on sale at MoC but that had been out of stock for the past month or so. She said he came with wig, but I emailed to ask if he came with eyes too. That night she wrote back that yup those and she would include pants and shoes.
BUT!! Since I'm a big pussy and indecisive, I felt bad spending so much right before Christmas on me and decided to wait a few hours til just before bed. And I fell asleep on the couch of course until 230 in the morning and when I got up, someone had bid and took away the BIN!! So I slept on it and in the morning, I emailed the seller that she sold me with the pants but since I fucked up and lost the BIN could she reinstate? And she actually offered to take it down and relist to do so, since the buyer had zero feedback. I got her email right after lunch the next day and suddenly the cashback was only for 25%!! It was only about an hour!! So I got busy at work and then Mom wanted to go shopping, so I didn't get back to email her til 8 that night and by then it was down to 20%!! GRR!
But since I'd come this far, I decided to just get him so I could stop thinking about it and so I ended up paying $50 more than if I had just been wreckless, selfish and impulsive in the first place. I'm seriously thinking just giving up trying to be like some kind of rational, practical person because it really doesn't pay off for me.
Anyhow, I now have 10 more times I can use that cashback thing, but I'm going to have to keep an eye out and hope that the percentage goes up again and pounce. I'm guessing they didn't anticipate a bunch of $200 cashbacks with all the doll peoples suddenly buying. And most of the other stores aren't even as good as the 20% on ebay. The $100's still pending, but I'm fairly confident I'll have it soon and I'm really hoping that it still counts on my Visa so I get the reward points from it.
And just now I got an email from the store I bought the book from and they don't have it and have refunded my money. Gah, I can't even buy Christmas presents right now! At least it wasn't the book for my dad, which is what I feared when I saw that. His is signed by nine authors which would be much harder to replace. >_<
Anyways, when not spazzing about weird financial shenanigans, I've just been playing Chrono Trigger. In Zeal Palace so hopefully I'll be done with the first gothru soon and then I can move much faster with New Game+ and knock out all the endings and extras. Haven't even messed with the arena or other crap yet.
I'm antsy to play Lego Batman though. -_-
