Its not really atheism. if you didn't believe in someone, its hard to fight a war against them. But either way they don't cover that in the first film/book because they spend all of it getting Lyra to that stage of the plot (although they cut off the real end of the first book in the movie which sets up the overall plot.) Still.. all the books are worth the read although they do get philosophical a lot. I'd enjoy it if they made the other 2 films but I have no doubt there will be a ton of controversy is they do.
Sasha & I have the same problems with pictures. I always get red eyes too in photos.
P.S. You should give Iron Man a second chance with a proper viewing. Its really the best comic book movie I've ever seen(although I haven't seen Dark Knight yet but I don't care, I'm resolved to hate it).
