Should I join TQ this round? I haven't done any kind of pics in ages, which should mean yes, but just means that I don't know where most of my props and junk are. And holy crap, 35 entries. And they all have a lot nicer clothes than the dorky ken stuff I have. Was it in Summer last time? That's another vote for no, just cause once I get out of the 103 degrees, I just want to do nothing. I dunno...

Yeah and it's such short notice too. If they had done something like a month ago that they were getting ready to do it and then opened the casting or whatever for a week, that would have given enough notice, but this just came out of nowhere. Oh well, may PFab will make a resurection and we can do that one together. :)

I've been oblivious to the doll world lately, except getting into bjds more!

Question.. if your dolls are supposed to be directly related.. (say sisters) do you dislike if they are different skin tones?

Do you like white skin or natural better?

Haha, BJDs is where I've been, too. I haven't wanted to buy any more pullips and a lot of people were getting annoying so I bailed on those places.

I'll be honest, I'm terrible with characters. I mean, I know what my doll's personalities are, but I don't have any kind of overarching storyline or world for them. :( But actually, I just got a 2nd Angell Studio Gus in WS, and my first is Pinky and since they're the same doll just boy and boy-made-into-girl, they're going to be siblings and differing skintones. But now...it just kind of makes it look like one is sick, lol. I'm guessing the pajamas he's in doesn't help. They so need more clothes. They're worse off than the taeyangs and I have 3 more on the way!!

Personally, I wouldn't dislike it on other people's dolls either. It might be easier to tell right off, but in RL siblings look lots different. And when you're throwing pink wigs and purple eyes into the mix, anything goes, right? I guess it's that anime esthetic so I'm used to it, heh.

I muchly prefer normal skin. The white looks bloodless to me, though I only have a BBB and AS one to compare too, but one of those is a vampire just for that reason. Plus, I'm in the desert and it's sunny all the time, my house has windows in every room and I like to keep my dolls out on display, rather than put away, so if I get white, it's just going to yellow anyways, and I don't want to deal with that.

I have lati yellow coco in natural skin she was my 1st
my 2nd is a custom house bisou uu - customized to be gothy
3rd - little fee ante - in white skin.

Littlefee ante is supposed to be coco's older sister and she's in white skin.

I'm not sure if I want her in natural to match coco or if I want to trade coco in for a white skinned coco!!

I want a LatiY, but they make them such a pain to get. -_- I think it was Byurl I finally decided on the last ordering period before I put it in the cart and saw how much it was going to be. O_o I hardly ever see that one up on the MP either.

I don't think I've seen your CH one. I need to go look! I'm so bad with flickr, I always forget to go look there for people's stuff. I've got a BonBon but she's blank, atm, and I'm still working up to getting all the stuff together to do faceups. Did you do UU's yourself?

Ah, so that's why you were looking for a NS one! That is a tough one to decide...when I'm off work I'll have to go take a look at your pics and see them together. If you're happy with them the way they are though, I think it's fine for them to be siblings as is!

I think I like the white more, but I never heard of the yellowing issue. Is it only due from direct sunlight??

It seems to be just direct exposure to sunlight. Not sure if that counts indoors as well? I would think directly in front of a window, but if it's not like in the direct sun I don't think it would be too bad. It seems to be the french resin that's the worst and that's mostly the fancier companies like volks...and my beloved AS. *cough* I think some will turn more natural but some turn like banana yellow.

I think those Unoas are really bad about it. The seller of Momo said she has some slight yellowing though she's been in a box, so I'm curious to see how pronounced it is. My big Soom boy is normal skin, but it's still a pretty yellow tone compared to my pinker dolls, so if it's just like that, then, eh. I think you can sand off the first layer of resin to get the white back, but you'd probably have to sacrifice faceups too. If you don't take our dolls outside much, though, I wouldn't worry about it. My WS Bobobie vampirekin (fairly sure that she's NOT french resin)still seems bloodless and I haven't noticed any yellowing on her and she's always been out in my living room and I have a giant picture window on one wall and a window on the other side as well. The French resin is more transcluscent if you're not sure which you have.

My dolls never been outside, and are on a shelf, minimal light (sun or indoors) really hit them, so hopefully all is safe.
No clue if mine is french resin or not o.0

I think you're right. I'm probably better off working towards the BJD contests that are going on right now. One's making a flight prop for your dolls. :D And you can win full dolls from those, though it's a lot more competition so I doubt I'll come anywhere close...

lol Yeah, all motivation to do *anything* pretty much vanishes at this time of year. I'd normally say, at least it's a dry heat, but we've been having random storms that result in lots of lightning and humidity, but not much rain. Blech.

Oh! I finally figured out FL is friends list! lol I was all "Florida? Fairyland?" Man and I've got to work 4 more hours tonight. I do need to take more pics for you guys. Any requests? I've got a list of my dolls in my LJ bio. I've got a fun photostory planned but I'm waiting for my herd of Brownies to come in.
