Doll Peddlar (www.dollpeddlar.com) announced on DoA that they were hosting a meetup in Albuquerque in October. Finally a meet-up I can plan to attend! But it turns out that's linked to a 4 day modern doll convention. Which is cool, but $300 for registration is...gack. D: That's not even including hotel. I guess you get free doll(s?) and actual companies like Tonner, Elfdoll and Wilde Imagination will be there. Finally something cool in NM, but...wtf is it so expensive?? It's still New Mexico! Geez!

That was my reaction! There's not even a day pass option or anything. I'm guessing it's to cover those "free" dolls and dinners and whatnot, because I really didn't see 4 days worth of activities there.

October 14-17. And that free meet-up is the 13th which is a tuesday! What a weird time for all of it! And I just realized the organizer is in Massachusets!

And yet...I'm still tempted, lol.

I can see being tempted, but all of the things I would want to go to (not that I would actually go, but if it were here, ya know) cost more LOL

Well a coworker already has thursday and friday off, so that takes care of that! I can still get Tues and Wed though, so I think I will go up for that dollpeddlar meetup. They promise raffles and prizes and such, too, and will probably be more bjd-oriented whereas that other one might've been more baby and fashion dolls.

I think multiple companies give towards the "souvinier" package, but yeah, is it outfits, dolls, cheap crap? Would it even be stuff for the dolls I have? And the ghetto, geocities-esque website isn't real confidence inspiring either. ;P
