All four of us actually made it to Carlsbad. It was a bit of a rocky start, thanks to Daniel not actually being reachable for last minute travel changes and the rest of us ready to go at 7:15, while he didn't show til 8. There was a little bit of in-fighting and annoyance at first , but the rest of the trip went smoothly, so no need for grudges.

We didn't go through all of the caverns, I didn't realize Deanne had knee problems, so we took a shortcut back and didn't seen the Cross and some other chamber. But cutting out early meant we were back on track with my original timeline so that's okay. We breezed through the Living Desert too, since not much is living at this time of year. -_- A lot of the animals were hibernating or out of their spaces, too. But the mountain lions were real close to the front of the cage and the pairie dogs were very active so it wasn't a total snooze. And I think we all did genuinely like just walking along the trails. Or maybe they just said that to make me feel better. But we are all nerds, so it probably was fine. The exercise did help a lot though and I'm a lot less sore than I think I would have been from all the up and down hill walking.

I was afraid something terrible would go wrong due to the curse of 2010. Friday, a girl I traded with emailed me that she still hadn't received her half even though I mailed it on Jan 2. She's in Canada, but I had gotten her shirt a couple weeks ago. The post office was awesomely unhelpful all around. Went down in person and she just handed me the 1-800 number and told me the same crap i saw on the tracking number, which was that it had never left Roswell. So I call and that lady tells me the same thing, that's not a real tracking number so they don't have to scan it, it could just be delayed, can't make a claim on first class...ech. I offered to pay her, but she wants to be a good customer? I don't know why that means she should end up with nothing, esp since I didn't really care about the clip in the first place and she's the one who really wanted it, so she agreed to give it 2 more weeks and I'll pay her then if need be. And I thought UPS had lost an amazon shipment but it turns out the mailperson just picked it up when they left the mail and then brought it back 4 days later. So now I have two of the same game and shipping it back is going to cost me more than it's worth.

And I want to get in on a wig grab bag from Leekeworld, but apparently all the GOs closed...yesterday. Dag, dag, dag.

And my stupid car insurance is due. And I need to do my taxes. And the stupid weather tricked me by being in the 60s last week and nice t-shirt weather and now dropping to 30s-40s today.

Kmart had peek-a-boo petities on clearance though. That's something. Good. Something good. Maybe my pics from yesterday came out nice. I wish I could go back to bed.

And thanks everybody, for your kind words about Fluffernutter. I'm so glad I have a lot of cat lovers in my life. It means a lot that you sent empathy and good will my way. :)

For me, shipping to Canada and Russia have been THE WORST. Both always take so long that people ask me when I ship their items, do I have tracking, etc...but I don't think you can track first class international, and no one asks to be upgraded in shipping. So, blah.

Getting stuff through customs can be a bitch. I think a lot of times it gets to the border & then just sits for days before somebody comes by and OK's it's passage on. She'll eventually get it but it'll take at least 3 times as long as you'd expect it would (or should).

Glad you had fun on your trip though. ^_^
