The joy of everchanging hair colors...

I did the base dye last night. I was shooting for just a really dark brown, but it looks closer to black. I thought it looked bad, like wannabe goth or something, but everyone's said that it looks good on me and seem to be sincere. At least it'll be tempered by blue stripes come saturday. I hope they last as long the purple did.

I had to scrap 2/3s of my Halloween costume. I don't know what plus-size girl they designed that for, but it sure wasn't one with boobs. So keeping the jacket and I'll just wear black pants and find a green shirt and maybe a real vest at goodwill to wear under it. The dress had a bust/waist? seam that ended up like in the middle of my chest, the jacket that wouldn't even cover a skinny girl's rib cage and the "vest" was just a bib you tied on and looked more like a bullet-proof vest. And considering the fabric alone came to $30 I'm just gonna buy a premade costume or two on clearance this year since I'll have post-halloween off and keep it in the closet cause this sure didn't save money like how I thought it would.

Oh, I did get my Lost Girls books, but the people shipped it horribly, so I'm kind of pissed. It's a really heavy 3 volume hardcover set and they sent it in a freaking bubble envelope. So the bottom of the box just ripped from the corner. Like the books just fall out the bottom if you pick it up rightside up. And they didn't secure the books inside the box so that didn't help either. It's insured, but I don't think I should bother. Just tape it up and be on my way. And they are definately way more graphic than I thought. I mean, I know everything said porn, but I guess I was still expecting like just the stuff in League of Extradinary Gentlemen or something. It's still an interesting take on things, but I had brought it to work to show Robert and quickly had to shove it back under my desk again. Oops.

I got my series 2 Heroes figures in, as well, and I got both Niki and Jessica since I think one of them is rare, but all they freaking did was switch which head she starts with in the package. Not even a palette-swap shirt color or something!! What the hell, assholes. So pretty much I just paid for a different cardboard insert...oh, well, the flying Peter figure is pretty goodlooking though.

And I swear the library didn't have the first Charlaine Harris or Kim Harrison books when I looked a couple months ago, but suddenly they do, so I've started the Southern Vampire series. OMG, Amanda's reading a real book! :O It's not too bad, but I'm sure I'll abandon it as soon as my Fables come in. Which should have been long ago since they're only shipping from Denver, but Amazon seems to like to just hold packages so that they delivery time will match their estimation rather than get here sooner. 

Some weirdness happened yesterday with a meeting with my boss that left me disquieted for the rest of the afternoon and wondering if I should be planning for a new job in the next year or so...but I think I'll post about that later if I do since it has to do with a lot of other stuff on the current place libraries have in society. Oh, well, Halloween Party tomorrow at work! And I'm in charge of everybody! Respect mah authoritay!
