Well, I want to get the bad out of the way first. We have had some major bad luck with cats lately. I'm not sure if I mentioned Mom's bush cats here before, but this little munchkin cat showed up that looks exactly like our Mishka(tuxedo/figaro cat) and this big fluffy Panda cat was hanging around and fairly quickly she got knocked up. She's hella feral though, so we could never get close enough to her to do anything about it. In fact, for awhile we thought she had lost the babies, but then tiny kittens starting appearing. She had three, one with little stub tail that looked kind of Siamese, a black and white and a gray and white cat. Well, the black and white kitten got hit by a car fairly early on. The no-tailed kitty was hella cute and we called him Bunnybutt and finally got them all in to be fixed with a lot of drama.

It was so weird though cause usually the toms just move on fairly quickly, right? Well they all lived out there as this whole family the giant juniper bush. The kittens never left, they all slept together, it was really cute. Well, then the papa cat Panda died, not sure of what, since he could have been sick or old or lord knows what. But recently, poor Bunnybutt also got hit by a car. :( He was so unique and interesting and even my dad was tearing up about it. So now they're just down to two...

Nina's house has been empty for awhile, but some of her family members had been coming over to clear stuff out, including my coworker's husband who is her nephew. Well the other day she told me that they found a dead cat in one of the closets that must've run in there at some point. I had her find out what color and she said blonde, so I'm guessing it was Little Orange. It just breaks my heart and kills me to think about him starving to death in there, only so many feet away from me. I had been thinking/hoping that he just found a new house to eat at, but apparently not...

Anyway, at least Bat is doing well, Misty is still alive and Mr. Boots has reappeared so at least some are hanging in there.

Onto the good. I completed my first resin kit! A lot of my projects never actually get off the ground, doll face-ups, jewelry-making, etc., but I had won a few kits off ebay and a couple were characters I had no idea of, so I took the plunge and starting painting. I had a fair amount of supplies already, but had to buy some other specialized stuff. She's far far from perfect, but I hope I can only improve from here, since I've recognized a lot of the mistakes I made. And hopefully I can do better with eyes when I'm able to have a reference picture for them.

Mainly, I'm eager to start doing Sailor Moon ones since there's approx 10 million of them, esp Saturn. This is the one I'm really hoping to hone my skills for someday:

I also want to be able to make them as gifts for people since I miss doing things like the mix CDs and such. It's also been super relaxing for me since I can just focus completely on that while I'm painting and I've been much less stressed than I can remember in recent times.

That site also runs contests twice a year, so another ambition is to make a Silent Hill diorama:

I can envision them with the fan behind and I think I could modify RE4's Leon figure into James and Ashley's head into Maria. Once I get a lot better of course. :D I won a box of them from ebay though for like half or more off their retail prices so at least I have a few more to practice on first. Think I'm gonna attempt one of my Saturns first though.

I'm at work now, but hopefully I'll get around to posting pics this afternoon! :D
