Early Premiere Week Round Up

Well, just got done watching Fox's animation season premieres. King of the Hill was very disappointed. I don't think I laughed once. It was really disjointed and everyone seemed to be acting totally OOC. Man, if that's what they chose to lead with, I worry about the rest of the season. They might have been better leaving it cancelled, but I'll hold on to hope.

Gave the Simpsons another try...and this season will go unwatched as well. The humor's just so unsubtle and not even funny. I was hoping for a neat Stephen Colbert cameo, but even his character was just shoehorned in, but since there was not any real story to begin with, I guess that doesn't matter. Still just Homer acting like a rageaholic moron with the other characters thrown in for 2 line afterthoughts. Yuk.

The big surprise for me was Family Guy. Since it's return, it's been rather hit and miss, but if the Star Wars premiere is any indication, it might be back on track. I just realized, is American Dad cancelled? Cause that might be the saving grace. I love the realistic dialogue in absurd situations. The couch was a nice running gag and I loved the Doctor Who shoutout. Really well done and had me laughing consistently. They should have just done that for the movie instead of those three crappy episodes. But I hear rumblings of another real one, so hopefully they'll just rip off another movie and do it this way since it works. The animation was stellar, too. The only thing that really fell flat for me was the Cleaveland/R2D2 black stereotype jokes. But otherwise, thorougly enjoyed.

Cold Case premiered as well and it's good to see Miguel Alvarez looking exactly as hot as he did on Oz. He doesn't look like he aged at all! Too bad his lines were so horrible. And I'm pretty tired of the traumatized cop coming back to work and not going to therapy and then getting all freaked out all over the cases while nobody does anything about it. At least Lily had the capacity to leave the interogation when she was having freaking hallucinations! And what was up with the killer reveal. WTF? No background on why he suddenly kills three kids at the drop of a hat and the wife stays with him?? That was exceedingly lame.

Going backwards in time to other premieres this week. US Kitchen Nightmares was a bit of a letdown. No where near as engrossing as the UK version. I'm holding off til next week in the hope that it was just that spraytan guido was such a douche that he took over the episode, but I swear they had better not give all of these assholes free kitchens. Part of the charm is Ramsey TEACHING these people how to fucking run the business they're wasting their money on and they either learn from it and succeed or don't and fail. Not this "hey you're a famewhore, here's free shit!" agenda. And since the guy next week is the one who sued him...I just don't know if it's going to be more of the american drama since our dumb brains can't handle people talking about business. But they should at least let Gordon narrate instead of that HK guy. He adds so much and he's so freaking brilliant and funny with it too!

Haven't watched Prison Break yet, I'll get back to you.

K-Ville premiered, but based on the preview I skipped it. 1.) Too many cop dramas already. 2) Anthony Anderson is a rapist and I don't support that shit. 3) The dialogue was fucking horrible. 

Despite looking forward to Kelsey Grammar, I saw the preview of Back to You and skipped it as well. I like him too much to just watch him act like a douche. And it seems Patty Heaton carried over her bitchy harpiness from ELR. Yay.

ANTM! Yay! Most of the bitches don't look too fug this year. But OMG what is with all the horrible personal info? Becoming a model to get over rape and molestation is sure as FUCK not the way to go! And Asberger's?? Really? *sigh* She sure as hell didn't seem ADD to me either and trust me, I know ADHD. She just seemed dumb and hunchbacked. And that one that was all bitchy cause she had the crap homelife. That's been played out every year now! 

News alert to reality people: Acting like an asshole is NOT keeping it real! It's just not exercising the self-control to keep your opinions to yourself! 

I'm watching Gossip Girl now, but only for the date rapist. I'm pretty sick of CW catering to all the teenage shit and replacing Veronica Mars with Marry a Farmer or whatever shit. What is wrong with networks??

Oh well, Heroes starts tomorrow! Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Sylar!!! *swoons* Eeeeeee!

Sorry. I melt everytime I see/hear/think of him. Really looking forward to MNIE and the Office premieres, as well. We'll see on Journeyman and Reaper. Oh and that Big Bang Theory looks like SHIT. Those are the same geek stereotypes fucking Saved by the Bell used guys! And fucking Kelly Cacao?? Maggot necked bimbo from Charmed?? Just no words, my friends, no words.

Nice to see you making up for all the lack of postings with a MEGA-POST. If you still haven't gotten a Wii you might want to talk Danny into getting Escape from Bug Island. I'm getting a serious Disaster Report feeling from the game. Of course that could be from the sub-par graphics and clunky controls more than anything else.

Yeah, I finally figured out that I might post more if I actually wrote about stuff I want to talk about even if it's not what people might want to read. lol
Actually I have Danny's Wii at my house right now. He just had it piled in the corner, so I was like "Screw that" and finished up Cooking Mama. I think that is a legitimate sequel to DR?? It sounds familiar and I remember now hearing about a Wii sequel, but just writing it off cause I figured I wouldn't have one. So it's out now? I'll have to track it down! I did pick up Persona 3 though before one of the 50 copies tecmo produced vanishes. :P

I hold out absolutely no hope for the CW considering the stations it used to be and how badly they both sucked. :P Some part of me misses the yearly/monthly/weekly/hourly ranting and raging against the evil that was the WB, and I still can't say/read/hear CW without snorting painfully. Well, that and at this moment, the only show I watch on the station is Supernatural.

I want to like Gossip Girl, but that isn't going to happen until they let Blair step up.

G'ah! Kaley... whatever her name from Charmed? Loathe. LOATHE. Um, not just because she took what was the last season of my favorite show and hogged all the screen time and did so badly... Wait, yes, that's exactly it. That and she can't act.

In regards to the CW, I think I'm just going to hold the VM grudge for a very long time. Unfortunately I do like ANTM, so I have to watch it for now. I need to watch the SN dvds, but it seems like there's just not time to watch everything!
Is GG better if you've read the books? Cause I really had no interest in any of them. I'm pretty sick of all these shows about rich young snotty people wasting their lives.

I think Aaron Spelling just had a hard-on and wanted to see a blonde in tight leather outfits. Why he had to do that through Charmed is beyond me, but it really made the show go out on a sour note. Chrisssty was horrible, as well. They actually made me want more Alyssa Milano screentime!! I think I heard rumblings she'll be guesting on MNIE for a few episodes...*sigh*

It's not part of the series or anything actually, it's by a completely different company. Secret stash games which makes the Touch the Dead game on DS made it. They're a fledgling company making survival horror so I figured they need my money. However it is only $30 brand new which isn't bad for a Wii game, still you may want to wait.

I've only gotten about halfway through cold case, but it is an EXTREMELY thinky veiled reference to the west memphis 3. except they added that whole "the freaky kids just HAD to have come from abuse and neglect" bullshit.

The girls [I feel funny calling women in their thirties girls, but, hey, it's easier] wanted less stressful days, especially given Holly's new mommy status, so they brought in Billie. And Kern had a thing for her so she hogged even more screen time.[if one is in need of mind numbing agony, read any Brad Kern interview when he's discussing Alyssa, or any of the newbies of the season. First thing out of his mouth is gushing over their alleged hotness, and it's creepy] The one thing they forgot was to make her likable, and oh, yeah, a decent storyline at the same time. I liked her search for Christy, I hated how we were cheated out of seeing her rescue, loved that it caused one less Billie-centric episode, and hated that Christy didn't off Billie. Yes, my Charmed geekness rages on. And yes to the Alyssa on MNIE. I cry, I really, really do.


Not sure whether it's better or not if you've read the GG books. I pretty much hated the first three books, which is where the series seems to start, actually really loved the middle group of books, and by the last arc, when the author left, realized I truly loathed Serena and Nate, and since they take up half the books... The TV series gives [or attempts it] Serena depth, which is something she is sorely lacking in book form, but it's also missing Vanessa who points out how idiotic the rich bitches are.

I actually didn't get into Charmed until it was near the end of it's run, when I started working and watching the morning re-runs. Oh and reading the TWOP recaps. They make it more awesome. Have you seen those cartoons someone did? I need to find them, they're hysterical. I didn't really think it could get much worse after Phoebe assumed the hag role, but yeah, the Billie/KC arc was just a mess due both to bad story and acting. I wish they hadn't killed Shannen so early on, but I guess it had to be done.

Yeah, it all just seemed like bad shoujo anime, so I probably won't be sticking with it. And that girl that plays Serena looks 10 years older than the rest of the cast!

lol Awesome. I need to catch up with Prison Break and Heroes and then I'll let you know how those are going! I might do one on the lesser shows that are on the more obscure channels that are awesome too.

I'll have to wait for the CC to cycle through, but since I haven't seen it in town yet that might not be a problem. I just found out that Wild Arms 5 has an Anniversary edition I need to get. And OMG! Dracula X on the PSP has Castlevania SotN with it! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
