Busy Weekend

zalliaI actually did a lot more than shopping this weekend. In fact, I have about 500 pictures to show for it. :p I've already started photo-dumping onto flickr for those of you interested. Well, first on Thursday I think? There was a big fire burning in Monzano or somewhere and since the winds were raging the smoke ended up down here. Just from being out shopping, my hair REEKED of smoke. But it did provide for a creepy sunset.

Here you can see just how obscured the landscape was, though I think it's a mix of dirt and smoke.
Yup, it was obscured enough to stare directly into the sun. I couldn't even see El Cap until I saw it poking the bottom and figured out what it was.
Here's how it looked AFTER the sun set. I'm sure there's a scientific explanation for it staying so light, but hells if I know what it is.
On Saturday, I actually got up early for the Balloon Rally. My dad actually got to go on a chase crew and ended up being able to go in the balloon for a little bit. I didn't realize they looked for volunteers ahead of time but I guess it makes sense for the people coming in from out of town, so I'm totally going to try to get on a crew next year. Maybe I'll actually get some skyward pics! I'll make a post when I upload those photos, which will probably be tonight.
