Fair Results
Sep. 30th, 2008 08:33 pmWell, I had a horribly crap day at work thanks to both coworkers and patrons so I was in a pretty bum mood come 5:00. I talked Mom into going to the fair today though, so I could find out the results of our stuff quicker. My photographs and her knitting and pottery. Well, we get down there and I try to expect the worst and unfortunately it was pretty bad. Most of mine didn't even place, and out of 14 I think I ended up with like three 3rds and a 2nd. So I'm moping around when I hear my mom and brother shouting my name. I go over expecting Mom's awards, when what do I see in the glass case? One of my pictures with a buttload of ribbons! And guess which one it was?

The one Pullip picture I entered. I totally thought people would just be creeped out or confused so I pretty much just threw it in as a lark. But what do you know? Mom said it's because it's something different and I guess so since there's all those damn ones of people's kids and fireworks and places I'll never go.
Anyways, Best in Division/Show? Or something like that. So it was the overall photography winner which included both film and digital and digital imagining and by my estimate there were 324 photographs entered overall. AND it comes with a $200 cash prize! They even had my name up there with the list of the 7 or so other winners! And guess who was overall for Clay/ceramics/glass art? Mom! Her clay St. Martha statue won for that so she's getting $200 as well! The overall grand prize went to some carved ducks or something though. She also got a best thingie for her spun yarn and a bunch of firsts/seconds for her other pottery and knitting. So cool!!
I lost my Sylar auction though cause it ended while we were at the fair. :( I would've bid higher if I knew I had money coming in! Guess we can go to Alb afterall now though! And I think this was the first time I went to the fair and there were no gangfights! Bonus!
