Cats in the Wall....take 2

zalliaI know a few of you like to laugh at my story of thinking my bathroom was haunted, when it just turned out that the Sasha and her brood were all behind the bathroom mirror. I thought they had grown out of it, but last week I would wake up to crashing, expecting to find toppled boxes and not being able to figure out what they were knocking over. Turns out it was pipes. >_>
Well, actually, lord only knows what they were doing in there, but I think they've just gotten so big and clumsy they were just falling onto the pipes and making a crapton of noise. Then Saturday morning it was LOUD and I dreamed about gas leaks and explosions and freaked the fuck out yelling into the holes that they're going to kill us all. A little overdramatic I know, but I really would have preferred sleeping in instead of wondering if the heat coming on was going to blow up my house.
I took off the bathroom mirror and sure enough, there were the boy cats looking lost and confused so I left it off for them to leave, they didn't, I ended up hauling them out by the scruffs of their necks which they were too pleased about, and then had to wait for Sasha and Sita to come out. Mom came over to help me block off access and it took about TWO HOURS just to figure out how to keep them from going into a tiny hole in the wall. I'd asked all the plumbers to block that hole, but the pipes and water heater are so close to the wall, there's really no way to get in between to do anything about it. And there's no door to the area and the doorway is pretty wide. I had tried to block off the area before with the japanese folding screen they had already ruined, but they would find a way to push it open and then would get up on the counter to jump over it and instead knock that and everything else INTO the freaking hot water heater which was even more terrifying.
So, Mom macguyvered up a "door" which involved those big plastic tubs, the screen on top of those that made it reach to the sealing, tying that to the door frame with yarn and nails, putting cardboard around the bottom and then putting more boxes in front of that. God help me if I trip a circuit and have to get to the breaker box. When I get up in the mornings the cardboard's pulled away, but it seems to be holding up thus far. They had also found a second way in though, as the bedroom bathroom was pronounced defunct several months ago and the plumber just left a vacant hole under the sink, which the cats know and will try to open up the cabinet from the outside!! So I had to pile up crap in front of that to keep it closed (That Lost Girls boxset is getting it's second use, lol). They get all anxious about it though, esp Sasha, circling the kitchen, hiss-meowing to let them in. WTF is wrong with these cats? Why can't they just run under the bed when they're scared like normal cats? *sigh*
But in good news, I have 4 dolls in the mail today! Got 3 Dollcenas off ebay and even though they're not ones I love, the price was right. The chinese seller even combined some of the shipping, so the total only came to 23 instead of $30! Yay! And MiniGus posted today too. I hope he comes quickly!!
