Just yappin' about stuff..
Mar. 9th, 2009 10:10 amWe did go bowling last Thursday and it wasn't the horrible trainwreck I had envisioned. Root beer and ketchup does not make for a good combination though. It seems to bring out the salt and tomatoeness of the ketchup and is just utterly vile. And power-sapping since I bowled terribly the next several frames. Robert did end up going though! He said he's never been miniature golfing(!!!) so I'm hoping he, Deanne and I can plan a day trip to Ruidoso to remedy that. *fingers crossed*
Friday, I got to waste the last hour of the day playing with Paige's son. He was just sitting there glaring at us, so I started his favorite game of hiding behind things and popping out and pretty soon we were chasing people down in the library and just having all sorts of fun. The library hasn't completely ruined me on all kids at least. Between him and the bowling though, my legs were pretty much shot over the weekend and my muscles huuurt. I'm so horridly out of shape...I need to have my own baby to keep me exercised, yes? ;)
And hey, guess what? I'm actually reading again! I feel pretty pathetic to be a librarian and then tell people I haven't actually read things since college. I grabbed the Dark Tower graphic novel from work and I really liked the art style even though I've not read any of the books. But, it was intriguing and since the Southern Vampire book I'm reading is hardcover and my copy of Gunslinger is a nice purse-toting paperback, I took it to the hairdresser with me and haven't put it down all weekend. I'm actually glad to have read the TPB first since I know the people that are mentioned and I can see myself getting real annoyed by that if I had no backstory. I want to read the Stand now, too, so I'll have to decide to do 2nds of Dark Tower or start a new one. I haven't even finished Vol. 11 of Fables since I got so engrossed with DT! The end of Dawn of Sorrow awaits me too...eep.
I managed to order Case of the Blues Ellowyne with 1 hour left on the coupon. Wee, dolly wait! Still waiting on those goddamn sailor moon dvds too. The tracking on USPS still has that electronic info received message from the 28th, but I freaking paid for priority, so either the USPS is dicking around or the company is just holding the package for who knows what reason. If it doesn't come today I'm going to start spazzing at either or both. >:O

Date: 2009-03-09 06:56 pm (UTC)I demand this be fixed at once! Because otherwise I've been living a lie.
Dolly! Books! I'd post a more coherent comment, but really, where's the fun in that?

Date: 2009-03-09 08:16 pm (UTC)My friend did, I think it's here at the library. Maybe I'll check that out next as an inbetween since it should be fairly quick.
You should check ebay, sometimes you can get them for much less than retail there. Most Tonners it seems. I don't play with them a whole lot, but I do like looking at them above my TV.
