All 5 of the heroes figures on ebay! Didn't get much a deal since I got in a bidding war and I stop thinking and just get stubborn, but they're on par with all the other ones on ebay. The only problem is, I've recently discovered there are like 5 exlcusive variants out there and a few of them I do want to get. What is it with comics and fucking variant shit? Ugh.

Don't you love bidding wars? I've come really close to accidentally buying something I didn't really want all that much just because someone else wouldn't. stop. bidding! And then I look over and realize, "crap!"

I used to love variants and hunting for them and the thrill of getting to the comic shop early enough to snag the rare stuff [or have the owner, who probably sent his kid to college off my weekly addiction, hand me the good stuff, knowing I'd want the shiny, rare one] but after awhile, it just got insane. And I hate variant toys. Hate. Hate. Hate.

Even as I want whatever the variant is, I still hate. Unless said variant is ugly as sin and people only want it because it's rare and I don't have that weird "must have all" compulsion towards whatever line it is. Then it amuses me.

See, usually I avoid that by like making myself mulling it over and then entering the bid when I know it's probably already ended. But I was at work and the connection is insanely fast so I got my bid in with like 5 secs to spare. -_- But oh well, at least I won't have to price shop for them anymore and if I see them on clearance I'll grab a second set to keep mint or take out since I still haven't decided which to do with these ones yet, lol.

Yeah, the variants weren't so bad when it was just like an alternate cover for volume 1 of a series, but now it's freaking everything, even TV guides will have like 4 different damn covers! Then I have to go all around town tracking down the one with the person I want on it... >:(

I wasn't even going to go after the variations on the Heroes toys, but I love the stand that makes it look like Peter's flying and I'd def take it out of the box. I like burnt up Claire's expression more than the regular and Future Hiro's just awesome (and expensive so I'll probably end up passing on him). I don't need Hiro with the constipated head and strangely enough I can pass on the exclusive Sylar too since they just painted over the regular's eyes so meh. The disappearing Peter is kind of cool so I'd snag him if I saw it for cheap, but I've never liked fully clear ones so I'll pass on fully invisible Peter. Dang, that's 7 freaking exclusives/variants!! Geez!! Well, I don't really like any of the characters in the next run so hopefully I won't be running into this problem. Haha and I just realized, poor Mohinder gets no variant love.

Man, I hope you watch Heroes or that paragraph will have been for nothing, huh?

G'ah, I loathe it when TV Guide does variants, because it's hard enough to find the blasted thing anymore and I'm never going to forgive them for ripping out most of the listings and replacing it with... nothing! Bah.

Now I'm going to have to look up the Heroes figures [cuz I do watch!] just to see how nifty they look. Clear figures freak me out. *giggles at constipated head comment* Definitely have to find a picture of that.

*kicks variant Buffy covers* That's how I get my monthly taste of variant goodness. If I love the normal cover, I'm sent the variant. If I don't care, I get normal. We're 15 books in or something, why do we need variants still? Bah!

That's true here, too! When I was trying to track down the Heroes TV guides, half the stores didn't even carry it and the others had all gotten in the same damn ones. I'm not sure if I ever even got the Sylar cover. -_-

Yeah, clear figures to me are like, what's the point? Just so you guys could skimp out on a paint job? And they try to make those the "special" rare ones, like they're something nice to look at. Though at least Peter has the excuse of invisibility.

lol I just switched to waiting for the graphic novels to come out. Sailormoon and Sandman and some Spawn were the only ones I ever tried collecting the comic books of.
