Change of Plans (doll-related :p)

Oh, I should post Halloween pics today. I'll do that this afternoon.


Okay, so I haven't bought any of the ones I planned on yet, since I can't decide which eyes or color or store for Aku and I'm still hoping for some special at Fairyland for pongpong. I really like the event niblet for Dollzone, but I can't find $100 of DZ stuff I want, much less $500. So I'm nixing hopes of the little devil doll since I have no clue what the 2ndary market price would be.

So what did I buy? lol I had to buy something right?

$75 shipped and she'll come with the outfit and 2 wigs. She's 27cm, but I think too thick to really fit a lot of barbie clothes, but I've got so many from the pullips, I'm sure I'll have some stuff that will. Now, the smart thing to do, would be to buy all the same size of dolls so that I could just buy the same size wigs/eyes/clothes/shoes and have a lot more options, but damned if that's ever been my way of things. Besides if I like her, I might get Bobobie's Isabella too cause I actually like her face better.

But the plan change? I got paid today. And I think I finally found someone to be Tessa's boyfriend. I'm giving up on Sabik cause he's just too expensive. I think him being taller than her would be kind of cool(he clocks in at 70cm while Tessa's 60) it would also be more of a pain for clothes and shoes and whatnot.

I thought I would have to paint my own to not get an angry/sad boy doll or one that looks like he's 12, but this guy is just sweet and mature enough to suit Tessa nicely I think. Esp if I put him in more sophisticated clothes. Unfortunately, Soom has no US dealers and $500 is a lot when I still want those other two plus the lovely $50 faceup fee and $60 shipping charges. BUT someone from the UK is offering to split hers for $150+20 shipping. I could get just the painted head from Soom for roughly the same price and shipping, but he would be sans eyes. But would I want a different color anyways? Actually I think him, that March doll and Bipolar elf all fit 14mm so hey at least that would be a few interchangeable things. They're the same color as the eyes in the picture, what do you guys think? Are those a good color for him, or would I want something else?

Okay, so I can cut costs with the head, since it would seem I'm going to be buying international no matter what. But what of the body. Well, it would be good to have them match really well, but since I don't really plan on having him unclothed very often, I'm wondering if I can't get away with just buying a cheap normal skin body and it wouldn't be too noticeable, especially in pictures. Case in point:

So that brings him down to $348 which is much more manageable, except I'd still need a wig.

Though! Then I could buy one of those Dollheart Fuku things which might have wigs/shoes/clothes and hope for the best and I could get one of the msd ones too. My plan is to get mom a cheap Ello off ebay either stock or a nude one and then find some nice msd clothes for it. I want to get her one that I don't have, but I don't want to ask her which one she would like cause then it won't be a surprise.

But then ALL of that's going to set me back quite a bit, especially if the Pukis do do something cool and I end up wanting one of those, too. Although most of those sales seem to be running til dec 31st or later, so I could always put that off a bit.

SO! Now...I don't know. So many decisions.

Heh, you know what's funny, though? I was thinking on what George said about my weird doll fixation that I've gotten, but I don't think it's even really about the dolls, so much. Because for all the time I spend talking and shopping for them, I don't spend much time at them when I'm just at home after work. Like I said, I have to enter photocontests just to get me going to take pics. And it hit me, that it's really the shopping that I enjoy most. Checking for sales, getting a good deal, comparing sizes and prices and adding up the shipping costs and working the numbers...I really am a weirdo, aren't I? Oh, well. >_

I'm kind of the same. I adore my collection and I can't imagine life without it, but my life isn't nearly as fun if I can't shop. I just placed two eBay bids and already I feel happier than I did all week!
