zalliaI'm feeling a LOT better today. Last night I was falling asleep by 8:00, though woke up again at 9, then fell asleep from 10-12 and then finally got to bed at 1. But my head hurt so much from tired/dehydration. Work's been such a mess. One thing after another and I can't focus on anything without something else popping up.
I'm hoping another look at the new doll tonight will help me like her better. I just wasn't feeling it at all yesterday and I think she was in more played with condition than the post led me to believe. I mean, I paid less than half so that's not an issue, but it would have been nice to just know that there was some dirt on her leg and her wig was a little funky. And now seeing another company's faceup, none of them have compared to the Angell-studio one's. They're just so beautiful and delicate and the other ones I have are just...eh. Her eyebrows are too low. It bugs. The eyelashes are all crushed and ratty, too. I dunno. Buyer's remorse I guess. Mom offered to buy the doll, but she seems to think outfits are worth the same price as the doll and wants to split them all 50/50 which...not so much. But I don't really want to like try and gouge my mom either. I dunno. I'm not sure if I should try and change her eyes/wigs etc to see if I like her more, or just hang on to her for a few months and then sell her. She's not as happy as she looked in the picture either. Buyer's remorse...*Sigh*
I'm hoping Kaela comes today and will distract me from that disappoint. I think USPS's tracking system crashed though, since she should have updated to Alb by now and both my Amazon orders that posted 2 days ago are showing no record of the number. :|
Jury Duty trials had been just Thurs/Friday but now there's going to be some on Monday too...great. I've got my hair appt for Saturday, though. But actually I like the base color I did this time, it's a nice brown with red highlights, which show up really nicely where the bleach parts had been. But I desperately need a haircut so oh well. I hope this dual-color think works out. I'll have to doublecheck that the blue and green are actually going to complement each other. I dunno. I'm not even excited about this anymore....
Oh yeah, and the Top Chef finale sucked ass.

They tried to paint Stefan as evil (oh noes he's not american! hiss!), but he was the one who stepped out of line to go comfort Carla and Hosea didn't even glance at her! I wanted Fabio, though. He was funny and cute. ;P I dunno, most of the past season have been pretty lame on this show though. They need to just put S1 on dvd so I can be content with that.

Date: 2009-02-27 07:27 pm (UTC)Stefan was my fave. I thought he was smart, funny, and a damn good cook. Sure, he was a bit arrogant but he isn't that good? He knew he cooked good food and wasn't afraid to take risks and I thought that was the whole point of Top Chef. Someone who is a good cook and takes risks, not someone who could be the next top TGI Friday's chef! No season has compared to season 1 and, surprise, Harold's the only one with a good amount of success.

I absolutely hate Hosea. The only person worse would have been stupid Leah and her stupid inability to make anything.
Fabio is awesome. I think his restaurant in Southern California and I want to go find him. There's a student in one of the classes I work in (I tutor in ESL) who talks just like Fabio. I want him as my own.

Date: 2009-02-27 08:17 pm (UTC)I would have been completely happy with a Stefan win. He won practically every challenge and so yeah, he had a right to be confident in his abilities! It's too bad he got too complacent towards the end though. But I can't even think of anything memorable Hosea made. And the Leah thing was totally barf-worthy. I hated her even more too!
Yup! I didn't get too into it until the end of the season last time, but now that I know it's not as lame as I thought, I'll be paying more attention.

MMAS is apparently getting an overhaul for this season. Hopefully it gets better and not more ANTM-esque. I just read ANTM dropped the height requirement to be on the show and I'm pissed.

I went to the dentist to get a crown put on a tooth. Some guy with a dental emergency gets in the door right before my appointment time so I have to wait 40 mins before they can see me. Then while waiting for the dentist to come over the assistant asks if I want to see my new crown. I say yes... so she reaches over, unseals the box & pulls out the crown only to get this "WTF look on her face, go "oh.. um..." & then takes the crown away. I ask her if somethings wrong & she's like... ".... um... no? I gotta talk to the dentist." 10 mins later I find out their lab mixed up boxes & sent my crown to some other dentist & the crown he ordered to my dentist. Now I get to wait another week for a crown & I can't stop laughing cuz the whole dentist office looked like they wanted to crawl under a desk & die. The dentist himself looked like he was blushing & apologized like 5 times. They're giving me a free professional whitening session tho. That should be interesting. All in all.. I'm amused.

Date: 2009-02-28 12:08 am (UTC)The one that hurt me about a week or whatever ago didn't ever hurt again. I think I was just clamping down on it at work while I was stressed. So once I stopped doing that, it stopped hurting.
