Ouch, my self-esteem....
Nov. 13th, 2008 08:26 amWell, that's a kick in the teeth. I actually take a photo that I really like and bam! Knocked out of the competition. Suck. I really thought I was doing well this time. Which is just more fuel for my philosophy to never believe in myself or think that anything good will ever happen to me. Positive-thinking as a technique for me is apparently a crock. So nuts to that.

Date: 2008-11-13 05:47 pm (UTC)I'm sure you getting booted was for reasons ranging from dumb judges to who the voters/judges are friends with.
there was at least one other time you posted a link to a competition where the ones that were "better" I thought were kinda lame and cliche.
so long story short....poo on them. :P

Date: 2008-11-13 07:13 pm (UTC)I personally think two of them should be disqualified for the writing. it's a photo--if you can't get your point across visually then you're not doing your job.
and I don't even get the one with the upside-down-losing-pants guy.
the other chick did the same thing in theory as you did, but yours had ACTUAL FIRE FTW.
I would definitely chalk it up to dumb judges.
and while I wouldn't want any of the dolls in my house, cuz I think they're kinda creepy, I do like your photos of them and stuff. so I may skim a little through your posts about actually collecting them and stuff, but I pay attention sometimes. ;)
besides, I am the chick who married this guy, so I understand obsession a little.

Date: 2008-11-14 04:14 pm (UTC)I think it was Harry Potter? They have wands?
lol Well, that's cool that you do enjoy my pictures. I understand creepy dolls aren't everyone's cup of tea and take no offense to it. I've thought about starting a seperate doll journal, but I'm too lazy to switch back and forth so it all gets lumped together. :p
Hehe, yeah, we all have our "collections" of one thing or another, don't we.
